Wow.
For the past couple of months we've been working, planning and preparing to launch this campaign. We were always hopeful that people would support the idea of The Board Game Book, but at the back of our mind there's always been lingering doubt. When you put so much of yourself into a project, you can't help but be nervous when you put it out into the world.
In the first 24 hours of our campaign, we've raised about a third of our funding total. We've had backers from all over the globe, and we've received the incredible support of two sponsors. Seeing people pledging their support and discussing the project on social media has been genuinely moving, and we're starting to let ourselves feel quietly confident about hitting our funding target.
We are so grateful for the interest and enthusiasm people have shown for the project, and we're looking forward to producing a book that reflects all of the aspects of our hobby. We want to guide newcomers into gaming, and we want to help lifelong players deepen their appreciation of the games they love. With your help, we'll be able to do it.
We're off to a great start, but now the challenge is to keep this momentum going. If you could take a moment to spread the word by telling your friends about The Board Game Book, we'd be more grateful than you could believe. If you can share the project on social media, blog about it, post on forums, shout about it on public transport...
Ok, maybe not that last one.
